چکیده

determination of thespanwise variation of moment distribution and indicates that the effect of finite span modifies the zero lift properties which the two-dimensional theory predicts. It is thought that the idea underlying the proposed two-equation procedure, which may be extended to an n-equation procedure, will also be useful in other problems of lifting-surface theory. Summary.-The steady motion of a rectangular lifting surface in incompressible flow is considered, with the following two objectives. (1) A modified derivation is given of Weissinger's improvement of Prandtl's lifting-line theory. (2) The integral equation of lifting-line theory (and Weissinger's improvement) for the spanwise variation of lift intensity is generalized to two simultaneous integral equations for lift intensity and moment intensity. In so doing certain difficulties of lifting-line theory with reference to behavior at and near tip sections are substantially ameliorated. The two-equation procedure of this paper is shown to be applicable to a problem which is outside the scope of the lifting-line equation.

Modulation of crayfish retinal function by red pigment concentrating hormone

The role of the crustacean octapeptide red pigment concentrating hormone (RPCH) in the control of crayfish retinal activity was explored. RPCH injection into intact animals resulted, after a latency of 1030 min, in a dose-dependent enhancement of electroretinogram (ERG) amplitude lasting 60120 min. RPCH was able to potentiate ERG amplitude in both light-adapted and dark-adapted animal...

Morphological changes in injured retinal pigment epithelium and photoreceptor cells after transplantation of stem cells into subretinal space

Introduction: Degenerative retinal diseases are main cause of irreversible blindness. Stem cells therapy is a promising way in these diseases. Therefore, mesenchymal stem cells because of its safety can produce degenerated cells and can play important role in treatment. The aim of this study was to examine morphological changes in injured retinal pigment epithelium (RPE) and photoreceptor cells...

Retinal morphology and retinomotor response in Caspian kutum (Rutilus frisii subsp. kutum)

In this study, the morphology and organization of the retina of Caspian kutum and fish response to ambient light as retinomotor reaction was investigated. The Rutilus frisii subsp. kutum is an anadromous fish and important native fish specimen of Caspian Sea. The specimens were obtained from Shahid Ansari Teleost Reproduction and Culture center (Guilan province, Iran). For light and dark adapta...

Identification, Characterization, and Diel Pattern of Expression of Canonical Clock Genes in Nephrops norvegicus (Crustacea: Decapoda) Eyestalk.

The Norway lobster, Nephrops norvegicus, is a burrowing decapod with a rhythmic burrow emergence (24 h) governed by the circadian system. It is an important resource for European fisheries and its behavior deeply affects its availability. The current knowledge of Nephrops circadian biology is phenomenological as it is currently the case for almost all crustaceans. In attempt to elucidate the pu...

Histochemical study of retinal photoreceptors development during pre- and postnatal period and their association with retinal pigment epithelium

Objective(s):The aim of this study was to evaluate distribution and changes of glycoconjugates of retinal photoreceptors during both pre- and postnatal development. Materials and Methods: Tissue sections from days 15 to 20 of Wistar rat embryos and 1 to 12 postnatal days of rat newborns including developing eye were prepared for lectinhistochemistry technique. Horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-label...
